Bad Boys Blue
made their first significant mark in 1985 with an incredible hit You're
A Woman (still my favourite from that
era) from their first album Hot Girls
- Bad Boys. The original trio Andrew
Thomas, John
McInerey and Trevor
Taylor recorded many hits which made them
a HUGE success on the European dance floor and later in the U.S. as well.
The
group had a large number of hits in the '80s and their first five albums,
which are full of hits, easily prove that. Example tracks are: I
Wanna Hear Your Heartbeat, Kisses
and Tears, Gimmie
Gimmie Your Lovin', Charlene,
Come Back And Stay.
Number
of albums later, Bad Boys Blue style began to change. One reason for this
change was the fact that one of the members had left the group (after
the fifth album to be precise and was replaced by another member).
The group also changed songwriters (original songwriters concentrated
on other projects). The consequence of this was that BBB started to
lean towards the current EuroDance style.
The
good news is that Bad Boys Blue are still here, their 1996 album is called
Bang! Bang! Bang!.
Even though the mid-eighties BBB sound is not so evident anymore, some
of the tracks on this album still give us memories of these good old (and
the best!) sounds unique only to Bad Boys
Blue. Nevertheless, it is pleasing to know
that they are still around. May be, one day they will decide to do a "Classics"
album or something similar to it, so that we can enjoy their original captivating
harmonies again.
